WBGT Heat (“the app”) is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what information the app uses and how.
The app has no user accounts. We use a limited amount of data to provide weather readings, process purchases, and measure the performance of our advertising. With your permission, some advertising and purchase data is shared with Meta (Facebook) to measure ad campaigns. We do not sell your personal information.
With your permission, the app accesses your device’s location — or a location you enter/search manually — solely to retrieve local weather conditions and calculate the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) for that place.
If you subscribe or buy the lifetime upgrade, the purchase is handled by Apple. We record that a purchase occurred to measure the performance of our advertising (see Advertising & Tracking). We never receive your card or payment details.
We advertise the app and measure whether those ads lead to installs and purchases. To do this:
• We use Apple’s privacy-preserving Search Ads attribution and SKAdNetwork, which do not identify you. • If you grant permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, we share advertising and purchase events — including your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) — with Meta (Facebook) to measure and improve our campaigns.
If you decline, we do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and only the privacy-preserving methods above are used. You can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
These providers receive only the data needed for their function and are governed by their own privacy policies:
• Open-Meteo — geographic coordinates, to retrieve weather data. https://open-meteo.com/en/terms • Apple — place-search queries (MapKit), purchases, and ad attribution. https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ • Meta (Facebook) — advertising and purchase events, and (with your consent) your advertising identifier, for ad measurement. https://www.facebook.com/policy.php • Supabase — hosts the backend that stores install/attribution data. https://supabase.com/privacy • Web3Forms — delivers feedback messages you choose to send. https://web3forms.com/privacy
We operate a backend that stores a random installation identifier and related advertising-measurement data for as long as needed to evaluate ad performance. Location data used to display conditions exists only transiently on your device. Feedback you submit is retained to help us improve the app.
The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
